Jamieson is pleased to announce that it has advised Mikir Shah (CEO) and the management team of Africa Specialty Risks („ASR“) on Vitruvian Partners‘ strategic investment in the business.

ASR is a leading developing markets-focused (re)insurance group, founded by Mikir Shah in 2020. The group operates Syndicate 2454, the only dedicated growth economy Syndicate at Lloyd’s, alongside reinsurers in Bermuda and Mauritius. It has de-risked over $60bn of risks across more than 90 countries in developing markets. Having doubled its premium base every year since inception, the group is forecast to write approximately $0.5bn in gross written premiums in 2026. In partnership with Vitruvian, ASR will continue to realise its mission of enabling sustainable economic development by fulfilling unmet insurance needs.

John Greenland, Matthew Mowat and Alison Dunning advised the management team on the transaction and the terms of the new management equity arrangements.
