Jamieson is pleased to announce that it has advised on the terms of management shareholding and incentive arrangements in Fidra Energy as part of a new equity investment in the business by EIG and the National Wealth Fund (the NWF).

Fidra Energy, established in 2024, is an independent battery energy storage business which supplies and works across the UK and European energy markets.

The new investment will allow construction to start at the Thorpe Marsh site in South Yorkshire, which in addition to the investment by EIG and the NWF, will be funded by new loan facilities from a club of international lenders. Thorpe Marsh is the largest standalone BESS project financed globally and the largest BESS financing in Europe. The BESS Project is an essential development in the UK energy transition enabling the integration of renewables into the grid and helping to reduce energy waste, improve grid stability and provide greater network flexibility

Gus Gayford and Kenny Brodie advised on the terms of the new management equity arrangements.
